This discipline encompasses a wide range of property and construction issues from refurbishment and conversion of existing buildings through to party walls, rights of light and dilapidation issues. The Building Surveyor's skills also include the forensic investigation into building defects with accurate fault diagnoses and proposals for remedial action.

The Building Surveyor is well placed to give advice on building compliance matters relating to disability access, fire and building regulations in the light of current and proposed legislation.

In addition to the normal area of work is the condition survey, the structural survey and the house buyers survey either for single purchasers or a corporate client with several hundred houses. With nine Building Surveyors we are able to resource large surveys to suit most requirements.

The Building Surveyor is so multi-faceted that many Surveyors have separated with their own areas of expertise. MacConvilles are able to address all the Building Surveyor's areas of expertise by employing a number of chartered Building Surveyors whose abilities overlap and extend the scope of the company's abilities.

Building Surveyors are fully cognisant with the latest developments in building technology with a strong appreciation of energy conservation and issues of sustainability and recycling. A breadth of training and understanding enables them to deal comprehensively with all building matters.
