First Base Day Centre, Brighton

What it is

First Base Day Centre comprises an existing Church which has been stripped out to form a new Day Centre to support people who are sleeping rough or insecurely housed in the City.

What we did

As Cost Managers we carried out feasibility studies; prepared Schedules of Work for tendering, undertook ongoing budget control and saw the project through to final account stage.

We undertook a VAT analysis on the project working with specialists Mazars, achieving a saving of £100,000 for the Client.

As with many refurbishment projects, additional items were uncovered as the works proceeded on site and MacConvilles needed to act promptly to agree the cost impact, seeking savings elsewhere to compensate.
