The only role in a building contract to be created by an Act of Parliament. An unacceptable number of accidents and deaths on building sites made the Health and Safety Executive press for Parliamentary action. The result is the Construction and Design Management Regulations of 1994 creating the role of the Planning Supervisor that was revisited to become the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 amending the duties of the Planning Supervisor and creating the CDM Co-ordinator.
MacConvilles have surveyors who have been specifically trained to act as CDM Co-ordinators, but also ensure there is a general level of awareness by all members of the company when visiting site.
