MacConvilles wish to announce the news of the retirement of David Comber, who spent a grand total of 33 years with MacConvilles Surveying. David is looking forward to his retirement which will give him more time to indulge in his passion for classic motorcycles. Over the years David has gained an impressive collection of Raleigh motorcycles and hopes to be able to devote more time to restoring and showing the bikes he owns. Over the years, David has gained considerable knowledge about Raleigh Motorcycles and intends to share this by writing a book. He is pictured above with Carl Flinn who recently joined the Board of Directors at MacConvilles. With over three decades at MacConvilles David comments; “I have seen many changes in the building industry - some for the better and others not so good. Certainly, the increasing number of regulations has meant that some of the fun has gone out of the industry, However, my work has been interesting and rewarding - and I have met quite a few characters over the years.” In addition to spending more time with his motorcycles, David, who is married with two grown-up daughters, is also involved in helping run a local community centre, as well as working on set design and construction for a local amateur dramatic society. He adds: “I should have lots of time to carry on with my interests, although I believe a long list of other projects has been prepared for me by my wife...” Malcolm Gordon - Managing Director of MacConvilles adds: “David has been a fantastic asset to the firm over the past 33 years and we wish him well in his retirement. We also welcome Carl onto our board of directors. He has brought much to the firm over the past three years and we are looking forward to his input as we drive the firm forward.” |
